Visual Investigations
When access to North Korea is restricted, how can we reveal what is happening inside the country? Launched in 2022, Korea Future’s visual investigations harness cutting-edge technology and primary research to reconstruct events linked to human rights violations. Using 3D modeling, satellite imagery, memory-based diagrams, and survivor testimony, these investigations create detailed visual reconstructions of sites of violence. They serve as powerful tools for global advocacy and justice efforts.
By transforming inaccessible evidence into compelling visual narratives, these investigations offer a deeper, more tangible understanding of North Korea’s human rights landscape. This approach fills critical gaps in documentation, equipping policymakers, legal experts, and advocacy groups with evidence-based insights to confront and address violations.
