Event: Understanding Religious Freedom Violations in North Korea

Wednesday, 27 October, 2021 | 08:00-09:00 EDT | 13:00-14:00 BST | 14:00-15:00 CEST | 21:00-22:00 KST | Register here

Join us for the launch of our new report, Persecuting Faith: Documenting religious freedom violations in North Korea (Volume 2), and an update to the North Korean Religious Freedom Database. We will be discussing evidence of serious human rights violations that have targeted adherents of two religions, North Korean Shamanism and Christianity. Based on 456 documented cases of human rights violations involving 244 victims and 141 perpetrators, we will explain how patterns of violations of human rights underscore the total denial of the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion—often known as the right to religious freedom—in North Korea.

This virtual event is open to the public and media. A recording of the event will be published on our YouTube page. For any questions, please contact us.
